Since
1998, when the Miss Universe Organization made
the decision to support breast and ovarian cancer
survivors, each Miss USA has spent thousands of
hours educating the public about breast and ovarian
cancer. Due to her participation in events like
breast cancer walks, seminars and telethons, our
titleholders have helped raise millions of dollars
for research.
Miss
USA will spend countless hours working with
groups like Susan G. Koman for the
Cure, Gilda's Club and the USO.

Gilda's Club
It is the vision of Gilda's Club Worldwide to become the international leader
for strengthening the global awareness of this philosophy, and to advance an
understanding of the essential bond that emotional and social support brings
to the cancer experience, not only for those living with cancer, but also for
the families and friends who surround them.

USO
The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the
troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men
and women in uniform. The original intent of Congress - and enduring style
of USO delivery - is to represent the American people by extending a touch
of home to the military. The USO currently operates more than 135 centers worldwide,
including ten mobile canteens located in the continental United States and
overseas.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure
Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement,
is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.
They work together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all
and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Susan G.
Komen Race for the Cure®, and generous contributions from our partners, sponsors
and fellow supporters, they have become the largest source of nonprofit funds
dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
