
In
the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts Theater on December
1, 2007, in the host city or Portsmouth, 25-year-old
Monica Day was crowned Miss Ohio USA® 2008. To the venue's
audience, Day declared, "I am honored to represent
the Buckeye State." The Greater Columbus representative
has significant plans for her new position.
Monica
is the WCMH 4 traffic and entertainment reporter in Columbus,
Ohio. The Whitehall-native has been featured as
the National Anthem singer for the Columbus Crew, and emcee
for the Columbus Destroyers.
Monica
enjoys working as an entertainment reporter because it
provides her the opportunity
to be involved with local
charities and events, During her reign, Monica will work
with the official causes of Miss USA, which include breast
and ovarian cancer education, research, and legislation
as well as working with her own cancer awareness organization.
