In
the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts Theater on December
1, 2007, in the host city or Portsmouth, 16-year-old
Chelsie Folden was crowned Miss Ohio Teen USA® 2008.
To the venue's audience, Folden declared, "I was
so excited just to make the top 15 and I never dreamed
that I would be the winner." The Wellston representative
has significant plans for her new position one of which
is being the second buckeye representative to bring the
national crown home to Ohio!
Chelsie
is a sophomore at Wellston High School and is a Varsity
Cheerleader, a
Varsity Softball Player, a Varsity
Crosscountry Runner, a Power Tumbler along with participating
in her High School Cheerleading Competition team.
Chelise
is also a FCCLA member, which is a Family Career
and Community Leader of America. She introduces to
students
and people in her community the effects of drugs and
alcohol. Chelsie continues to help with the project
attending the
FCCLA conventions and taking part in their many workshops.
The Miss Universe Organization, producers of the MISS
UNIVERSE®,
MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® Pageants, is a Donald
J. Trump and NBC Universal partnership. Miss Teen USA
spends her year building relationships with organizations
committed
to education and action, such as Best Buddies, Outside
the Classroom, Do Something, Sparrow Clubs and D.A.R.E.
